Text books with a lot of pictures aren't really it's strength. I ignore the Kobo store and just pirate everything and i haven't had any issues with it. If you read eBooks or listen to audiobooks on your iPhone or iPad, youll need to buy your. I would recommend one of the 8 inch ones if you will use it for manga though. the Kobo Books app for iOS doesnt include the Kobo store.
